Regulation 3(1)(c)

schedule 3BOVINES

PART IRECOGNITION OF BREEDERS' ORGANISATIONS

In order to be recognised as a recognised organisation, an organisation shall satisfy the criteria specified in the Annex to Commission Decision 84/247/EEC (OJ No. L125, 12.5.84, p58) laying down the criteria for the recognition of breeders' organisations and associations which maintain or establish herd books for pure bred breeding animals of the bovine species.

PART IICRITERIA FOR ENTRY IN HERD BOOK

In order to be entered in a herd book, bovines shall satisfy the criteria specified in Commission Decision 84/419/EEC (OJ No. L237, 5.9.84, p11) laying down the criteria for entering cattle in herd books.

Regulation 3(4)(c)

PART IIIZOOTECHNICAL CERTIFICATE

The minimum information to be contained in a zootechnical certificate in relation to bovines shall be that specified in Commission Decision 86/404/EEC (OJ No. L233, 20.8.86, p.19) laying down the specimen and the particulars to be shown on the pedigree certificate of pure bred breeding animals of the bovine species.

Regulation 4

PART IVPERFORMANCE MONITORING AND GENETIC VALUE CRITERIA FOR BOVINES

The performance monitoring methods and methods for assessing bovines' genetic value shall be those specified in the Annex to Commission Decision 86/130/EEC (OJ No. L101, 17.4.86, p.37) laying down performance monitoring methods and methods for assessing cattle’s genetic value for pure bred breeding animals of the bovine species.

Regulation 5

PART VCRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE FOR BREEDING PURPOSES

Recognised organisations shall accept for breeding purposes bovines which satisfy the criteria specified in Council Directive 87/328/EEC (OJ No. L167, 26.6.87, p.54) on the acceptance for breeding purposes of pure bred breeding animals of the bovine species.
