Explanatory Note

This Order provides for the coming into force of provisions of the Social Security Act 1990 on the following dates—
1st April 1991 for the provisions in—
Schedule 6, paragraph 16 relating to statutory sick pay for NHS staff with divided contracts,
Schedule 6, paragraph 22 relating to statutory maternity pay for NHS staff with divided contracts;
6th April 1991 for the provisions in—
section 4 relating to the computation of additional pension for purposes of invalidity pension,
Schedule 6 paragraph 11 relating to the definition of tax years;
13th May 1991 for Schedule 4, paragraph 10 in so far as relevant for the purpose of authorising the making of regulations and for all other purposes on 4th November 1991.
