1. These Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) Regula tions 1980 so that the type approval requirements relating to the measures to be taken against the emission of gaseous and particulate pollutants from diesel engines for use in vehicles are, as an alternative to the existing requirements, the requirements of Council Directive 88/77/EEC as amended by Council Directive 91/542/EEC.
2. Copies of the Directives referred to in these Regulations and this note may be obtained from Her Majesty’s Stationery Office. Details of the Directives are set out in the Table below:
