The Agriculture Act 1986 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1991

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland, the Secretary of State for Wales and the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 24(2) of the Agriculture Act 1986(1), hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Agriculture Act 1986 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1991.

2.  Section 24(5) of, and Schedule 4 to, the Agriculture Act 1986 (repeals) shall come into force, in so far as they relate to the House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975(2) and the Northern Ireland Assembly Disqualification Act 1975(3), on 21st November 1991.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 21st November 1991 section 24(5) of, and Schedule 4 to, the Agriculture Act 1986 in so far as they relate to the House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975 and the Northern Ireland Assembly Disqualification Act 1975 and repeal the words “The Eggs Authority” in Part II of Schedule 1 to both enactments.
