The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 27(1) and 28(1) of the Insurance Brokers (Registration) Act 1977(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:–

1.  This Order may be cited as the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules Approval Order 1991 and shall come into force on 1st January 1992.

2.  The Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules 1991 made on 15th October 1991 by the Insurance Brokers Registration Council in exercise of their powers under section 8(2) of the Insurance Brokers (Registration) Act 1977 are hereby approved.

3.  The Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules Approval Order 1988(2) is hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order approves Rules made by the Insurance Brokers Registration Council in exercise of their powers under section 8 of the Insurance Brokers (Registration) Act 1977.

The Rules amend the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) Rules 1978, as amended by the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules 1979, 1982, 1985 and 1988 by altering the fees payable under the 1978 Rules as amended by the 1982, 1985 and 1988 (Amendment) Rules. The Order also revokes the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules Approval Order 1988 which approved the 1988 (Amendment) Rules.
