This Order may be cited as the Dangerous Dogs Compensation and Exemption Schemes Order 1991 and shall come into force on 12th August 1991.

In this Order–
a
“the Act” means the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991;
b
“the Agency” means the person or body for the time being designated by the Secretary of State to discharge those functions under this Order, which, in pursuance thereof, are functions falling to be discharged by the Agency;
c
“the appointed day” means the day appointed for the purposes of section 1(3) of the Act; and
d
unless the context otherwise requires, any reference to an article is to an article of this Order and any reference in an article to a paragraph is to a paragraph of that article.
