Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations require that child minders and providers of day care provide the information specified in Schedules 1 and 2 when applying for registration under the Children Act 1989.

The information required by Schedule 1 includes details about the applicant and where appropriate the person whom it is proposed will be in charge, including his qualification and experience, the premises in which the children will be looked after. Schedule 2 requires details of any other person living in, (or likely to be in,) those premises, and any person assisting (or likely to be assisting) in looking after the children.
