The Immigration Appeals (Procedure) (Amendment) Rules 1991

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of, and paragraph 25 of Schedule 2 to, the Immigration Act 19711, and now vested in him2, hereby makes the following Rules:–

Citation and commencement1

These Rules may be cited as the Immigration Appeals (Procedure) (Amendment) Rules 1991 and shall come into force on 31st October 1991.

Amendment of Immigration Appeals (Procedure) Rules 198432

In rule 27 of the Immigration Appeals (Procedure) Rules 1984, for “10 miles” there shall be substituted “16 kilometres”.

These Rules amend the Immigration Appeals (Procedure) Rules 1984 to substitute a measurement in kilometres for a measurement in miles in rule 27, in pursuance of the European Community Council Directive of 27th November 1989 amending Directive 80/181/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to units of measurement (89/617/EEC)
