1.  The London–Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Hickstead Slip Roads) Order 1987(3), (the “principal order”) is hereby amended as follows—

(a)for article 2 of the principal order substitute the following article—

2.  The centre line of the slip road described in paragraph (2) of that Schedule is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan, and the centre line of the slip road described in paragraph (1) of that Schedule is indicated by a heavy black line on the further deposited plan.;

(b)after paragraph (i) in article 4 of the principal order insert the following sub-paragraph—

(i)A“the further deposited plan” means the plan folio numbered PSE A23/2/65/2/4 marked “The London–Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Hickstead Slip Roads) Order 1987, Amendment Order 1991”, containing one map, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 3PY;;

(c)in article 4(ii) after the words “the London–Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Hickstead) Order 1987(3)” add “as amended by the London–Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Hickstead) Order 1987, Amendment Order 1991(4);”; and

(d)in paragraph (1) of the Schedule to the principal order,

(i)for the words “to connect the southbound carriageway of the main new trunk road to Jobs Lane, Hickstead” substitute the words—

2.  The heavy black line on the deposited plan, referred to in the principal order, which connects with Jobs Lane and is given the reference letter D, shall be disregarded.

3.  This Order shall come into force on 27th May 1991 and may be cited as the London–Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Hickstead Slip Roads) Order 1987, Amendment Order 1991.
