The Bournemouth and District, South West, Tendring Hundred and West Hampshire (Pipelaying and Other Works) (Codes of Practice) Order 1990

Made

Whereas the Bournemouth and District Water Company, South West Water Services Limited, the Tendring Hundred Waterworks Company and the West Hampshire Water Company (“the Companies”) each hold an appointment under Chapter I of Part II of the Water Act 1989 1as a water undertaker:

And whereas each company has, pursuant to section 162(6)(a) of that Act, submitted to the Secretary of State for his approval a Code of Practice 2with respect to the exercise by it of powers conferred by or by virtue of paragraph 4 of Schedule 19 to that Act (“the Codes of Practice”):

And whereas the Secretary of State considers it appropriate, for the purpose of promoting what appear to him to be desirable practices with respect to the exercise by the Companies of those powers, to approve the Codes of Practice:

And whereas the Secretary of State considers that there are no persons with whom consultation with regard to the Codes of Practice is appropriate:

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 162(7) of the Water Act 1989, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Bournemouth and District, South West, Tendring Hundred and West Hampshire (Pipelaying and Other Works) (Codes of Practice) Order 1990.

Codes of Practice2

The Codes of Practice prepared by the Companies and certified as such by the Secretary of State are hereby approved.
