These Regulations, which come into force on 1st April 1990, increase the fee payable to the Certification Officer on an application for approval of a proposed instrument of amalgamation or transfer from £200 to £290 and the fee payable to him on an application by a trade union for a certificate of independence from £225 to £275.
Other fees payable to the Certification Officer but not increased by these Regulations are as follows—
(a)£40 on an application by an organisation of workers or of employers to have its name entered in the list of trade unions or employers' associations maintained by the Certification Officer (S.I. 1988/310);
(b)£12.50 for the entry of the name of an amalgamated organisation in those lists where the name of each of the amalgamating organisations is already so entered (S.I. 1981/1631);
(c)£14 for the approval by the Certification Officer of a change of name by a trade union or employers' association (S.I. 1988/310); and
(d)£3 for an inspection of documents kept by the Certification Officer under the Trade Union (Amalgamations, etc.) Act 1964 (S.I. 1988/310).
