Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the coming into force of–

  • – provisions in paragraph 15(1) of Schedule 4 to the Social Security Act 1989 (“the 1989 Act”) (unenforceability of liability of compensator to make certain deductions in respect of accidents, injuries or diseases) in so far as relevant for the making of regulations, on 25th January 1990;

  • – the repeal in Schedule 9 of that Act of section 4(4) of the Social Security (Contributions) Act 1982 (annual review of contributions) on 1st February 1990;

  • – provision in paragraph 21 of Schedule 4 (duties of the intended recipient where the person making a compensation payment in respect of an accident, injury or disease has no place of business in Great Britain) on 9th July 1990.
