The A516 Trunk Road (Etwall Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1990

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers:

1.  The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Derbyshire that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.

2.  In this Order:—

(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the trunk road;

(2) (1) “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA10/EM 60, marked “The A516 Trunk Road (Etwall Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1990”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;

(ii)“the new trunk road” means the trunk road to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A516 Trunk Road (Etwall Bypass) Order 1990; and

(iii)“the trunk road” means the A516 Trunk Road.

3.  This Order shall come into force on 10th October 1990 and may be cited as the A516 Trunk Road (Etwall Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1990.

THE SCHEDULELENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is in the Parishes of Hilton and Etwall in the District of South Derbyshire in the County of Derbyshire and lies between a point adjacent to the western boundary of Friary Farm, west of Etwall, and a point 175 metres south-west of its junction with Heage Lane, a distance of approximately 2.02 kilometres.
