The Swansea—Manchester Trunk Road (A483) and the Shrewsbury—Dolgellau Trunk Road (A458) (Welshpool North—South Relief Road) (Variation) Order 1990

The Secretary of State for Wales in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  The Principal Order is hereby varied by substituting for the length of new trunk road described in Schedule 1 to this Order (hereinafter referred to as “the superseded length”) the route described in Schedule 2 to this Order (hereinafter referred to as “the substituted length”).

2.  The effect of the variation to the Principal Order made by article 1 of this Order is shown on the deposited plan, the superseded length being shown by solid black lines on the said plan, and the substituted length being shown by short black banding on that plan.

3.  In this Order—

“the deposited plan”means the plan numbered HA10/2-WO.74 marked “The Swansea—Manchester Trunk Road (A483) and the Shrewsbury—Dolgellau Trunk Road (A458) (Welshpool North—South Relief Road) (Variation) Order 1990” signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
“the Principal Order”means The Swansea—Manchester Trunk Road (A483) and the Shrewsbury—Dolgellau Trunk Road (A458) (Welshpool North—South Relief Road) Order 1988(2);

4.  This Order shall come into force on 2nd October 1990 and may be cited as the Swansea—Manchester Trunk Road (A483) and the Shrewsbury—Dolgellau Trunk Road (A458) (Welshpool North—South Relief Road) (Variation) Order 1990.

SCHEDULE 1THE SUPERSEDED LENGTH

That part of the route of the new trunk road described in paragraph (i) of the Schedule to the Principal Order starting at the point marked A on the inset on the deposited plan and extending in a general northerly then north-easterly direction to point B.

SCHEDULE 2THE SUBSTITUTED LENGTH

A route approximately 160 metres in length starting at a point on the new trunk road 55 metres north east of Welshpool Station and extending in a northerly then north-easterly direction to rejoin the new trunk road at a point 200 metres north-east of Welshpool Station.
