The Education (Recognised Awards) (Amendment) Order 1990

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 214(2)(c) and (3) of the Education Reform Act 1988(1) the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Education (Recognised Awards) (Amendment) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 24th May 1990.

2.  At the end of the Schedule to the Education (Recognised Awards) Order 1988(2) there shall be inserted the following award —

Master of Business AdministrationRichmond College, Queen’s Road, Richmond, Surrey.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order adds the Degree of Master of Business Administration awarded by Richmond College to the list of awards contained in the Education (Recognised Awards) Order 1988. That Order lists particular awards granted by certain persons which are recognised awards for the purposes of section 214 of the Education Reform Act 1988. Recognised awards are not awards of the kind referred to in section214(1), which makes it an offence to grant, offer to grant, or issue any invitation relating to certain unrecognised degreesand awards.
