The Port of London Authority Harbour Revision Order 1989

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Harbours Act 1964(1) and now vested in him(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and on the application of the Port of London Authority, hereby makes the following Order:-

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Port of London Authority Harbour Revision Order 1989 and shall come into force on 3rd May 1989.

Amendment of Port of London Act 1968

2.  The limits within which the Port of London Authority have jurisdiction by virtue of the Port of London Act 1968(3) are hereby altered to exclude the area described in the Schedule to the Medway Ports Authority Harbour Revision Order 1989(4); and accordingly paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 to that Act shall be amended by the insertion at the end of sub-paragraph (a) of the words “or the area described in the Schedule to the Medway Ports Authority Harbour Revision Order 1989”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order alters the limits within which the Port of London Authority have jurisdiction so as to exclude a portion of the river Thames adjacent to Garrison Point, Sheerness.

The applicants for the Order are the Port of London Authority.
