1.  This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 18th September 1989.

2.  Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (which, as amended(2), specifies the drugs which are subject to control under that Act) shall be amended by the insertion in paragraph 1 of Part III of that Schedule–

(a)after the word “Bromazepam”, of the word “Buprenorphine”, and

(b)after the word “Oxazolam”, of the word “Pemoline”.

This Order adds to Part III of Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (which specifies the Class C drugs which are subject to control under the Act) Buprenorphine and Pemoline.
