The Airports Byelaws (Designation) Order 1987

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 63(1) of the Airports Act 1986(1), hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Airports Byelaws (Designation) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 10th April 1987.

2.  The airports specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby designated for the purposes of section 63 of the Airports Act 1986.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Section 63(1) of the Airports Act 1986 provides that where an airport is either designated for the purposes of that section or is managed by the Secretary of State, the airport operator (whether the Secretary of State or some other person) may make byelaws for regulating the use and operation of the airport and the conduct of all persons while within the airport. This Order designates the airports listed in the Schedule for the purposes of section 63.
