1.—(1) These Regulations which may be cited as the Supplementary Benefit (Single Payments) Amendment Regulations 1987 shall come into force as follows:-
(a)regulations 1 and 3 on 21st January 1987;
(b)regulation 2 on 26th January 1987.
(2) In these Regulations—
“the Single Payments Regulations” means the Supplementary Benefit (Single Payments) Regulations 1981(1)
2. In regulation 26A(5)(a) (definition of a period of exceptionally cold weather) for the words “minus 1.5 degrees Celsius” there shall be substituted “0 degrees Celsius”.
3. In any case where a claim under regulation 26A of the Single Payments Regulations (exceptionally cold weather) is made or treated as made in respect of the period of 7 days ending immediately before regulation 2 of these Regulations comes into force, the average mean daily temperature recorded for that period at the designated station shall be treated as equal to minus 1.5 degrees Celsius.
