The London-Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Muddleswood Slip Roads) Order 1987

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers:

1.  The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along two routes, to connect the northbound and southbound carriageways of the new trunk road with Brighton Road (B2117) (as proposed to be improved) at Muddleswood (the highways along these routes being in this Order referred to as “the slip roads” and respectively given the reference letters A and B on the deposited plan), shall become trunk roads as from the date when the Order comes into force.

2.  The centre lines of the slip roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.

3.  In this Order—

(i)“the deposited plan” means the plan numbered CSE 205/2/26/02, marked “The London-Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Muddleswood Slip Roads) Order 1987”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 3PY;

(ii)“the new trunk road” means the highway to be provided by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the London-Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Albourne (B2116)—Muddleswood) Order 1987(3);

4.  This Order shall come into force on 31st December 1987 and may be cited as the London-Brighton Trunk Road (A23 Muddlewood Slip Roads) Order 1987.
