The Counsellors of State in Council

Whereas Her Majesty in pursuance of the Regency Acts 1937 to 1953, was pleased, by Letters Patent dated the 17th day of September 1987, to delegate to the six Counsellors of State therein named or any two or more of them full power and authority during the period of Her Majesty’s absence from the United Kingdom to summon and hold on Her Majesty’s behalf Her Privy Council and to signify thereat Her Majesty’s approval for anything for which Her Majesty’s approval in Council is required:

Now, therefore, His Royal Highness The Prince Andrew Duke of York and Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, being authorised thereto by the said Letters Patent, and in pursuance of section 31 of the Copyright Act 1956(1), and by and with the advice of Her Majesty’s Privy Council, do on Her Majesty’s behalf order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Copyright (Taiwan Order) (Isle of Man Extension) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 21st November 1987.

2.—(1) The Copyright (Taiwan) Order 1985(2) shall extend to the Isle of Man subject to the following modifications.

(2) References in that Order to the Copyright Act 1956 shall be construed as references to that Act as extended to the Isle of Man by the Copyright (Isle of Man) Order 1986(3).

(3) In article 2—

(a)in paragraph (a), for the words “United Kingdom” there shall be substituted “Isle of Man”; and

(b)in paragraph (c), for the words “any part of the United Kingdom” there shall be substituted “the Isle of Man”.

(4) In article 5, for the words “commencement of this Order”, in each place where those words occur, there shall be substituted “extension of this Order to the Isle of Man”.

Explanatory Note

This Order extends to the Isle of Man, subject to the modifications specified in article 2, the Copyright (Taiwan) Order 1985 so as to provide for the copyright protection in the Isle of Man of works and other subject matter originating in the territory of Taiwan.
