SOCIAL SECURITY
This order brings into force on 26th November 1984 those provisions of the Social Security Act 1980 which are not already in force. They are those which enable a measure of similar treatment to be given to men and women in claiming an increase of short-term benefits, invalidity pension, non-contributory invalidity pension, retirement pension and disablement benefit under the Social Security Act 1975 in respect of a spouse or children or a person having the care of children, and those which repeal the power under that Act to make supplementary schemes in respect of industrial injuries and diseases.
