1. These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Crew Agreements, Lists of Crew and Discharge of Seamen) (Merchant Ships and Other Vessels) (Amendment) Regulations 1977 and shall come into operation on 14th February 1977.
2.—(1) The Merchant Shipping (Crew Agreements, Lists of Crew and Discharge of Seamen) Regulations 1972(1) shall be amended as follows:
(a)by the addition of the following new regulation after regulation 17 thereof:
“17A. A person having in his possession a copy of a list of crew required to be maintained under regulation 16 relating to a ship, other than a ship of less than 25 gross tons or to a ship belonging to a general lighthouse authority, shall produce it on demand to a superintendent.”;
(b)by the insertion in Regulation 22(2) thereof (Offences under Part II) of “17A” after “17”.
(2) The Merchant Shipping (Crew Agreements, Lists of Crew and Discharge of Seamen) (Fishing Vessels) Regulations 1972(2) shall be amended as follows:
(a)by the addition of the following new regulation after regulation 16 thereof:
“16A. A person having in his possession a copy of a list of crew required to be maintained under regulation 15 relating to a fishing vessel, other than a fishing vessel of a length of less than 55 feet, shall produce it on demand to a superintendent.”;
and
(b)by the insertion in regulation 21(2) thereof (Offences under Part II) of “16A” after “16”.
