The Arsenic in Food (Amendment) Regulations 1973

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) These regulations may be cited as the Arsenic in Food (Amendment) Regulations 1973, and shall come into operation on 14th July 1973.

(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of these regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Amendment of principal regulations

2.  The Arsenic in Food Regulations 1959(1), as amended(2), shall be further amended by substituting for sub-paragraph (d) of regulation 3(2) thereof the following sub-paragraph:—

   

(d)to any food in respect of which the maximum permitted arsenic content is prescribed by any regulations, other than these regulations or any amendment to these regulations, made under the Food and Drugs Act 1955 or by any other having effect as if contained in regulations so made..
