The Superannuation (Designation of Public Offices) Order 1967

Coming into Operation

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 39(2) of the Superannuation Act 1965, hereby make the following Order:—

Employment which is remunerated out of the revenues of the Social Science Research Council shall be employment in a public office for the purposes of section 39 of the Superannuation Act 1965.

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Designation of Public Offices) Order 1967, and shall come into operation on 4th May 1967.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 38 of the Superannuation Act 1965 provides for the superannuation benefits of persons employed in more than one public office. “Public office” is defined in section 39, and this Order designates employment in the Social Science Research Council as employment in a public office for the purposes of section 39.
