1.  The French territories hereinafter specified shall for the purpose of Section 3A, 4, 5 and 7 of the Trading with the Enemy Act, 1939, and for the purposes of any Order made under the said Section 7 cease to be treated as if they were enemy territory as from the date of this Order.

2.  The specified French territories are:—

being the territories of the French Franc Area (as defined in Article 1 of the Exchange Control (Payments) (French Franc Area) (No. 2) Order, 1951)(1), which have been enemy territory as defined in the Trading with the Enemy Act 1939 and in respect of which no Order under the said Regulation 6 has yet been made by the Board of Trade.

3.  This Order may be cited as the Trading with the Enemy (Enemy Territory Cessation) (France) Order, 1953.
