And be it declared and enacted, That the said Commissioners of Police, and also the Surgeon, Receiver, and Clerks employed in the Metropolitan Police Office, are within the Provisions of an Act passed in the Fifth Year of the Reign of His late Majesty, intituled An Act to alter, amend, and consolidate the Laws for regulating the Pensions, Compensations, and Allowances to be made to Persons in respect of their having held Civil Offices in His Majesty's Service ; and that the Clerks and Officers who were appointed to the said Office in the Year One thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine shall be deemed to have been employed therein before the Fourth Day of August in that Year.
