CVIIPower of Justices to compel the Attendance of Witnesses. Clerk of the Peace may issue Subpoeanas.

And it is hereby enacted, That such Justices as aforesaid shall have such and the same Powers of compelling the Attendance of Witnesses, and of requiring and compelling the Production of Books, Papers, and Writings, for the Purposes of this Act, as are herein-before given to the said Court and the Commissioners thereof, subject to such Provisoes and Limitations as the same are made subject to ; and that in all Cases where the Duplicate of any Petition and Schedule shall have been so lodged as aforesaid with any such Clerk of the Peace or his Deputy as aforesaid, or with such Towa Clerk or other Officer as aforesaid, such Clerk of the Peace, or his said Deputy, or such Town Clerk or other Officer, is hereby authorized to issue all Subpoenas under this Act as may be requisite, in each of which the Names of not more than Four Persons shall be inserted, and to receive for such Subpoena from the Person requiring the same the Sum of Two Shillings and Sixpence, and no more.
