(1)In this Act—
the expression " functions " includes powers and duties; the expression " appointed day " means such day as the Secretary of State may appoint, and the Secretary of State may appoint different days for different purposes or different provisions of this Act, and, without prejudice to the foregoing generality, may appoint different days for the transfer of the functions and the abolition of the several departments specified in subsection (1) of section one of this Act.
(2)This Act may be cited as the Reorganisation of Offices (Scotland) Act, 1939.
