For the investigatory powers available to a local weights and measures authority or the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment in Northern Ireland for the purposes of the enforcement of section 35ZA, see Schedule 5 to the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Any enactment which authorises the disclosure of information for the purpose of facilitating the enforcement of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 applies—
a
as if section 35ZA were a provision of that Act, and
b
as if the functions of any person in relation to the enforcement of that section were functions under that Act.

Nothing in this section is to be construed as authorising a local weights and measures authority to bring proceedings in Scotland.
