43 Penalties for offences. U.K.

Save as hereinbefore expressly provided, any person committing an offence under any provision of this Act shall be liable on summary conviction, in the case of a first offence under that provision, to a fine not exceeding [F1ten pounds][F1level 3 on the standard scale] and, in the case of a second or any subsequent offence thereunder, to a fine not exceeding [F1fifty pounds][F1level 3 on the standard scale].

F1S. 43 for “ten pounds” and “fifty pounds” there is substituted (S.) in each case “level 3 on the standard scale” by virtue of Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1975 (c. 21, SIF 39:1), ss. 289E–289G
