18Commencement of Act and application of Act to Northern Ireland

(1)Save as otherwise provided in this Act, this Act shall come into operation on the first day of January, nineteen hundred and thirty-two.

(2)This Act shall not extend to Northern Ireland unless and until provision to that effect is made by an Order of His Majesty in Council made in pursuance of a resolution passed by both Houses of the Parliament of Northern Ireland, and any such Order may make such adaptations of this Act in its application to Northern Ireland as may appear to His Majesty in Council to be necessary.

(3)In the event of this Act being so extended to Northern Ireland, then, for the purposes of section six of the [10 & 11 Geo. 5. c. 67.] Government of Ireland Act, 1920, this Act shall be deemed to be an Act passed before the appointed day.
