10Secretary of State may require certain information

For the purpose of enabling him to perform any of his functions under this Act the Secretary of State may require the owner or occupier of any land to state in writing the nature of his own interest in such land and the name and address of any other person known to him as having an interest therein and to furnish the Secretary of State with a particular description of the land, and the Secretary of State may also require any local authority, public undertaker or other person to furnish him with such information as he may specify, being information which in his opinion is necessary for the purpose of enabling him properly to discharge his functions under this Act.

If any person fails to comply with a requirement of the Secretary of State under this section, he shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding five pounds in the case of a first conviction or twenty pounds in the case of a second or any subsequent conviction.
