(1)In this Act " the Act of 1947 " means the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1947, "the Act of 1956" means the Valuation and Rating (Scotland) Act, 1956, " general grants " has the same meaning as in the Local Government and Miscellaneous Financial Provisions (Scotland) Act, 1958, and, unless the context otherwise requires, other expressions used in this Act and the Act of 1956 have the same meanings respectively in this Act as in that Act.
(2)Except in so far as the context otherwise requires, any reference in this Act to an enactment shall be construed as a reference to that enactment as amended or extended by or under any other enactment, including this Act.
