2Amendment of Crofters Common Grazings Regulation Act, 1891.

The power to appoint a committee and to make regulations conferred by section four of the [54 & 55 Vict. c. 41.] Crofters Common Grazings Regulation Act, 1891, may be exercised by the Crofters Commission, if they think fit, without any request from a landlord or crofters interested, and without prejudice to the powers conferred by section five of the said Act any person committing a breach of any regulations made and approved under the said Act, shall be liable on conviction before the sheriff under the Summary Jurisdiction Acts to a penalty not exceeding forty shillings, and in the case of a continuing offence to a further penalty not exceeding five shillings for each day during which such offence shall have been continued after written warning from the committee or from the Crofters Commission, and any such penalty shall be recoverable by imprisonment in terms of the Summary Jurisdiction Acts. A person appointed by the Crofters Commission may summon and attend any meeting of a committee under the said Act for the purpose of advising such committee in the performance of their duties, and may otherwise assist in the administration of the said Act as may be directed by the Crofters Commission.
