This Act may be cited as the Smart Meters Act.

Section 1 and this section come into force on the day on which this Act is passed.

Sections 11 to 13 come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by regulations appoint.

Regulations under subsection (3) are to be made by statutory instrument.

The other provisions of this Act come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which this Act is passed.

This Act extends to England and Wales and Scotland.
