The Secretary of State must, within the period of 6 months beginning with the end of the initial period, prepare a report on the operation of this Act.

In subsection (1) “the initial period” is the period of 5 years and 6 months beginning with the day on which this Act is passed.

In preparing the report under subsection (1), the Secretary of State must, in particular, take account of any report on the operation of this Act made by a Select Committee of either House of Parliament (whether acting alone or jointly).
