PART 3 U.K. Petition expenses of accredited campaigners: general controls

Restriction on incurring petition expenses U.K.

8 (1) No petition expenses are to be incurred by or on behalf of an accredited campaigner unless they are incurred with the authority of— U.K.

(a) the responsible person, or

(b) a person authorised in writing by the responsible person to incur the expenses.

(2) A person commits an offence if, without reasonable excuse, the person incurs an expense in contravention of sub-paragraph (1).

(3) An offence under this paragraph is a corrupt practice.
