Schedule 1A to the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000 (further provisions about Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation) is amended as follows.

In paragraph 2(2) (duty to consult on inspection programme or inspection framework) omit paragraph (h) (the Audit Commission).

In paragraph 3(2) (power to prevent inspection by other person or body) omit paragraph (e) (the Audit Commission).

The chief inspector may do anything the chief inspector thinks appropriate to facilitate the carrying out of an inspection under section 10 of the Local Government Act 1999 (inspection of best value authorities).
