49.Sections 1 to 7 of the Act (the provisions dealing with licensing reforms) are to come into force on 1st April 2014, after the end of the Government’s moratorium on new burdens on micro-businesses. Sections 9 to 12 and section 15 are to come into force two months after the date of Royal Assent, whereas the remaining provisions (sections 8, 13 and 14) are to come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by order (made by statutory instrument) appoint.
