Finance Act 2012

1.Section 33 provides that certain transactions involving transfers of assets or liabilities between UK resident companies are not excluded from being treated as distributions for the purposes of corporation tax, removing an anomaly left over from the repeal of Advance Corporation Tax by Finance Act (FA) 1998.

2.This section also removes an overlap between different parts of the legislation which define what a distribution is.
