13The Charity Commission

There continues to be a body corporate known as the Charity Commission for England and Wales (in this Act referred to as “the Commission”).

In Welsh the Commission is known as “Comisiwn Elusennau Cymru a Lloegr”.

The functions of the Commission are performed on behalf of the Crown.

In the exercise of its functions the Commission is not subject to the direction or control of any Minister of the Crown or of another government department.

But subsection (4) does not affect—

a

any provision made by or under any enactment;

b

any administrative controls exercised over the Commission’s expenditure by the Treasury.
