Overview of the Structure of the Act

10.The Act has five sections and six Schedules.

11.Section 1 and Schedule 1 are about the justice department (see paragraphs 5 and 7 above).

12.Section 2 and Schedules 2 to 6 are about judicial appointments and removals (see paragraphs 6 and 7 above).

13.Section 3 makes two amendments (see paragraph 8 above).

14.Section 4 amends section 86 of the 1998 Act (see paragraph 9 above).

15.Section 5 deals with supplementary matters.

Text created by the government department responsible for the subject matter of the Act to explain what the Act sets out to achieve and to make the Act accessible to readers who are not legally qualified.
