Overview of the Structure

19.The Act consists of eleven parts. These are:

  • Part 1 – General Functions of the Authority

  • Part 2 – Transport

  • Part 3 – The London Development Agency

  • Part 4 – Health

  • Part 5 – The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority

  • Part 6 – Housing

  • Part 7 – Planning

  • Part 8 – Environmental Functions

  • Part 9 – Culture, Media and Sport

  • Part 10 – Miscellaneous and General

  • Part 11 – Supplementary Provisions

20.It also contains two Schedules. These are:

  • Schedule 1 – Confirmation hearings etc: Schedule 4A to the GLA Act 1999

  • Schedule 2 – Repeals
