59Meaning of “maintained school” and “eligible for intervention”E+W

(1)In this Part “maintained school” means any of the following schools in England—

(a)a community, foundation or voluntary school,

(b)a community or foundation special school, or

(c)a maintained nursery school.

(2)In this Part, references to a school being “eligible for intervention” are to be read in accordance with—

  • section 60 ([F1performance standards and safety warning notice]),

  • [F2section 60A (teachers' pay and conditions warning notice),]

  • [F3section 60B (coasting schools),]

  • section 61 (school requiring significant improvement), and

  • section 62 (school requiring special measures).
