In this Part—

• “enactment” includes—

  1. a

     an Act of the Scottish Parliament,

  2. b

     Northern Ireland legislation, and

  3. c

     an instrument made under an Act of the Scottish Parliament or under Northern Ireland legislation (as well as an instrument made under an Act),

F1“Chief Constable (PSNI)” means the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland,

• “function” means any power or duty whether conferred by virtue of an enactment or otherwise,

• “terrorism” has the meaning given by section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2000 (c. 11), and

• “war” includes armed conflict.

In this Part a reference to the United Kingdom includes a reference to the territorial sea of the United Kingdom.

Except in a case of contradiction, nothing in or done under this Part shall impliedly repeal or revoke a provision of or made under another enactment.
