Remuneration etc. of Chief Land Registrar E+W

2 (1) The [F1 Secretary of State] shall pay the registrar such remuneration, and such travelling and other allowances, as the [F1 Secretary of State] may determine.

(2) The [F1 Secretary of State] shall—

(a) pay such pension, allowances or gratuities as he may determine to or in respect of a person who is or has been the registrar, or

(b) make such payments as he may determine towards provision for the payment of a pension, allowances or gratuities to or in respect of such a person.

(3) If, when a person ceases to be the registrar, the [F1 Secretary of State] determines that there are special circumstances which make it right that the person should receive compensation, the [F1 Secretary of State] may pay to the person by way of compensation a sum of such amount as he may determine.
