Interpretation of references to a “constable”

49At the end of the definition of “constable” in each of the following provisions—
(a)section 225(1) of the Army Act 1955 (c. 18) ,
(b)section 223(1) of the Air Force Act 1955 (c. 19), and
(c)section 135(1) of the 1957 Act,
there is inserted “but does not include a provost officer or a person exercising authority under or on behalf of a provost officer”.
