Subject to subsection (2) below and to paragraph 11 of Schedule 11 (special provisions relating to referral orders), this Act shall come into force at the end of the period of three months beginning with the day on which it is passed (and references to the commencement of this Act are to its coming into force then).

Sections 87 and 88 above shall not come into force until such day as the Secretary of State may by order appoint; and different days may be appointed for different purposes.

Section 160(6) above does not apply to an order under subsection (2) above, but an order under that subsection may make such transitional provisions and savings as appear to the Secretary of State necessary or expedient in connection with any provision brought into force by the order.
