Part IV Areas of outstanding natural beauty

I182 Designation of areas.

Where it appears to F1Natural England that an area which is in England but not in a National Park is of such outstanding natural beauty that it is desirable that the provisions of this Part relating to areas designated under this section should apply to it, F2Natural England may, for the purpose of conserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the area, by order designate the area for the purposes of this Part as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Where it appears to F3the Natural Resources Body for Wales (in this Part referred to as “the NRBW”) that an area which is in Wales but not in a National Park is of such outstanding natural beauty that it is desirable that the provisions of this Part relating to areas designated under this section should apply to it, the F4NRBW may, for the purpose of conserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the area, by order designate the area for the purposes of this Part as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

In this Part “area of outstanding natural beauty” means an area designated under this section as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
